The Luminex® technology allows waving plastic optical fibers alongside synthetic fibers, forming a luminous fabric without customary problems of heat and electricity. - Power comes from a rechargeable cell-phone battery, traditional batteries (rechargeable or disposable) or AC adapter plugged into the wall.

Unlike standard optical fibers, the fiber optic fabric emits light along the full length of the fibers creating a luminous effect which is stunning, dazzling, and wonderfully original.

Depending on the type of electronic module or LED used with the fabric, many colors are possible. LEDs offer the advantage of long life, low maintenance, low energy usage, low voltage and enhanced fire safety. LEDs create light in the specific color desired. LEDs can also be blended together to form virtually any color.

The Fiber Optic Fabric can be hand washed with water up to 160 F (70°C) and natural soap. If a battery is used, it must be removed prior to washing.

The Fiber Optic Fabric shouldn't be washed in a washing machine, pressed or ironed.
